Principal’s News

  • Mr. Barnes spoke on Mr. Kasting’s behalf.
  • All of the weight room equipment has come in. An informational meeting for parents of students interested in weight lifting will be held next Thursday, 10/22.
  • The drama department’s production of Alienated opens tonight and runs through this Saturday, 10/17. Tickets are available on SchoolPay through the LMS website.
  • Ms. Baker also hosted a drama booster meeting with interested parents. It was a small but mighty group that seems passionate about promoting and growing the drama program.
  • Yesterday, teachers participated in a professional development session hosted by the ELA team. Teachers did a deep dive into FAST data and discussed how ELA standards can be supported across different subject areas (science, social studies, civics, etc.). Teachers also identified the students performing in the lowest quartile in hopes of better supporting those students in reading across subject areas. Mr. Barnes also noted that in some classroom observations today, he saw non-ELA teachers utilizing some of the strategies discussed during their PD sessions already.
  • The world languages curriculum adoptions will be taking place this year and we are in need of some parents and community members to serve on the selection committee.

  • School Rec. Funds: $19,214.85

  • 7th grade bowling night is Monday and there are still a few spots available.
  • Secret Pal gifts will start to be distributed next week; a few staff members still need “adopting” so reach out to the PTO if you would like to help.
  • Jersey Mikes spirit night is Wednesday, 10/21. A portion of sales from that night will go towards PTO/school events.
