High School Academies
Rising 9th graders are able to apply for an academy at any St. Johns County Public School. Admissions into academy programs are done through a lottery system. If admitted into an academy program, students can attend an out of zone school. However, transportation is not provided.

Also see this list of frequently asked questions. Still not sure what to do? Counselors will be available during specific 8th grade lunches to help students apply and answer questions. Gradventure 2026

Permission slips should be returned to their ELA teacher with your registration receipt attached.
Does my Season Pass get me in?
Universal’s Gradventure is a special event; the parks closed to the public and it is only middle schoolers in the park! Please note this means a season pass cannot get you into this event.
How many tickets are available?
Only 250 slots! Register soon!
How much does it cost to go? $259 dollars. You get entry into the event, transportation via charter bus, t-shirt, meal voucher, and a refill cup!

8th gr Graduation & Celebration
When: Tuesday May 26, 2026 8:30-10:00 (graduation) 10:00 – 1:50 (lunch and celebration)
Where: LMS Gymnasium
All 8th graders are expected to meet the 8th grade Event Expectations to attend these special events!
What are the 8th Grade Event Expectations?
Students must be passing ALL subjects for the year.
- Students must not have any OSS from the start of the year through the
day of the event. - Students must not have more than two cumulative days of ISS from the start of the
year through the day of the event. - Students must not have more than 15 unexcused absences for the year through the day of the event.
