Instructional Coach

Hello!

My name is Jarred Shaw and I am the Landrum Middle School’s Instructional Literacy Coach.  I was born and raised in New Jersey but moved down to Florida to start a family eight years ago.  My wife and I both are educators in St. Johns County.  I taught in New Jersey for 18 years, became an administrator of a small public charter school in New Jersey for seven years.  I received my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at Rutgers University with Sigma Cum Laude.  I taught ELA, Intensive Reading, History, and writing in a youth detention prison.  I have two awesome step kids.  When I’m not in school, I enjoy playing and captaining league tennis, pickleball, and watching most New York sports teams.  I love camping, being in nature, going to the beach, walking my dog, and spending time with family.

As an educator, I value collaborating with peers, developing relationships with students, and motivating them in life-long lessons.  I like researching evidenced based strategies to solve problems with a collaborative team.

Your child’s teacher is always the first go to when asking questions about their learning.  You can always reach out to me with any questions related to literacy instruction, interventions, remediation, enrichment, curriculum, or data on your child’s academic growth.  I’m happy to assist in working together to make this a successful school year for your child.

Thank you. Jarred Shaw
