To make attendance reporting easier and more efficient for families, all attendance notes must now be submitted exclusively through the Attendance Form in ParentSquare.

New bell schedules for 2026-27. School starts at 7:30am. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday dismissal at 1:50pm. Wednesday dismissal at 12:50pm.

Important: All Rising 6th & Rising 9th grade students are required to submit updated residency documentation prior to the start of school. The most efficient and preferred way to complete this requirement is through the Returning Student Verification process. This process is only available online.

Volunteer Clearance

Whether an individual is volunteering in some capacity or simply visiting a student or staff member/s for a meeting or presentation, completion of the application is required. School access lasts for 3 year intervals.

Tdap for 7th Graders

As Florida students prepare to enter 7th grade, families should be aware that a Tdap vaccination is required, and it must be officially documented using the state’s DH 680 immunization form.

Calculators

Texas Instruments TI-30Xa Scientific Calculators will be part of the statewide assessments for all 7th and 8th grade math courses.

Students use Clever to access Schoology, Microsoft 365, and other links for students. Parents use ParentSquare for school communication and Schoology to keep track of schoolwork. For online textbooks, students in grades 6-8 use Schoology.

Attendance

Any student who has been absent from school shall provide a note from a parent or guardian within forty-eight (48) hours of returning to school stating the cause of the absence. If the student missed school due to an appointment, a note from the provider must be turned in within forty-eight (48) hours of returning to school. Failure to provide a note will result in an automatic unexcused absence. Notes will only be accepted through ParentSquare using the Attendance Form.

However, the fact that the student provides a note does not require the school administration to excuse the absence. The principal or designee will decide whether the absence meets the criteria for an excused absence, and that decision will be final.

After fifteen (15) days of absence, whether excused or unexcused, a student must present verification from a licensed doctor for all subsequent absences due to illness.

Electronic Devices/Cell Phones

Students are permitted to possess cellular phones and other wireless communication devices on school grounds, school buses, and at school-sponsored events. However, all devices must remain powered off and securely stored in a student’s backpack, purse, locker, or vehicle during the school day.

In accordance with House Bill 1105, the use of wireless communication devices by elementary and middle school students is strictly prohibited during the school day (no use on campus). Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in the confiscation of the device. Repeated violations will be treated as defiance of school rules and may lead to disciplinary consequences.

Summer BreakSpot Free Meals for Kids & Teens

Summer BreakSpot offers balanced breakfasts, lunches, snacks or dinners at no cost for kids 18 and under. Meals will be served on site, at no cost, at places like parks, libraries, schools, and churches.

Summer 2026 High School Facility Use

In an effort to promote community health and well-being this summer, SJCSD will open its high school facilities to the public on select Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. View the flyer for details.

FortifyFL

FortifyFL is a mobile app and web-based tool that allows students, parents, and community members in Florida to anonymously report suspicious activities, potential threats, or safety concerns related to schools. The app immediately forwards these reports to appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials for rapid response.

School Access

School access (proceeding past the front office of any school) is required for every individual that is not a staff member of the St. Johns County School District. This is done through completion of the district’s volunteer application. School access is good for 3 years. For help completing the online application, please contact the Volunteer Services Department.
