8th Grade Graduation & Celebration

Attention 8th grade families!! See below for some reminders!

DATE: WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 2026
TIME: STARTS AT 9AM; DOORS OPEN AT 8:30AM

You must RSVP in advance so we can verify your volunteer clearance status. We will be unable to process clearance checks at the door, so submitting your RSVP now ensures we have enough time to review!

Please note the following: 

*Due to space restrictions, each student may invite up to 2 guests. Younger children are not permitted to attend, except infants that will remain on a parent’s lap at all times.
*All guests must be approved volunteers and present a valid photo ID upon arrival. 
*Volunteer clearance may take several days to process and cannot be expedited on the day of the event. If you are unsure of your status, click here and begin the application; it will stop you if you are already cleared. The application takes less than one minute. 


**If you are not an approved volunteer, you will not be admitted to the event. There will be no exceptions.**

7-Star Band

Congratulations to 7th grade band student Edie Woodard for being accepted into the Florida Bandmasters Association 7-Star Honor Band on Bari Sax!

This summer, Edie and other rising 8th grade band students from across the state will meet for 2 days in Orlando where they will prepare challenging music for a concert under the baton of their conductor, Mrs. Hannah Jennings, president-elect of the FBA. This is a huge honor for Edie, the LMS Band program, and for St. Johns County. Way to go, Edie!!

Calculators

Texas Instruments TI-30Xa Scientific Calculators will be part of the statewide assessments for all 7th and 8th grade math courses. This is an example of the calculator that will be allowed on the state tests. Other calculators will not be permitted. Cost is about $10. Students are expected to have their own TI-30Xa calculator in class daily.
